About Dean Scheider
Dean Schneider is a 27-year old Swiss conservationist who has dedicated his life to protecting wildlife. Born in Zurich, Switzerland on October 3, 1992, Dean grew up in a loving family with his sister and parents who were very supportive of him. At the age of six or seven, he discovered his passion for wildlife through the legendary Steve Irwin, inspiring and educating him about different animal species.
Despite his passion for animals, Dean pursued a more traditional path to adulthood, eventually finding success in the finance industry as a financial advisor. This success allowed him to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project at the age of 23-24 with additional financial support from his family.
For two years, Dean dedicated himself to evolving and developing the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis without having to rely on any external income sources such as touristic visits/programs, breeding or trading of animals, donations, or other monetary businesses. After two years and a great deal of investment and labor, he launched the Donation Program with the Dean Schneider Foundation and other income sources are set to launch in the coming months/years.
Dean’s mission is to bring animals into people’s hearts by inspiring and educating them about the beauty of the animal kingdom. He believes that humans protect what they love, and they can only love what they know and have an emotional connection with. Once his work is done, he hopes that people will be motivated to contribute to the preservation and protection of wildlife.
Dean lives by five core values: loyalty, appreciation, freedom, kindness, and courage. These values have guided him through life and shaped him into the person he is today. He believes it is important to always be able to rely on each other and be honest and loyal. It is also important to respect every living being, recognize their emotional value, be able to express yourself freely, treat others the way you want to be treated, and have the courage to follow your passions. Through his foundation and Hakuna Mipaka Oasis project, Dean hopes to inspire others to follow these values and help protect wildlife for future generations.
